Battery certifications
- NMEA 2000NMEA 2000 marine electronics networkIndependently sourcedIssuer: National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA)NMEA — Manufacturer With NMEA 2000 Certified Product(s) — web.nmea.org/certified-products/results?affcode=Manufacturer+with+NMEA+2000+Certified+Product%28s%29
Each N-series page says the battery "is also the world's first series of lithium-ion batteries to be NMEA 2000 Certified", and elsewhere that the embedded BM-21 battery monitor is the certified part. That goes further than the maker's own word, because NMEA publish a public list of manufacturers holding NMEA 2000 certified products, and Lithium Pros appear on it, at 4123 Topeka Street, Knoxville, Tennessee — the address on their own site. The confirmation comes from the body that issues the certification, not from the maker and not from a shop. What that register lists is the company. It names no product and no model number. So it confirms that Lithium Pros hold at least one certified product; that this particular battery is one of them rests on the maker's own statement. It is also not a safety certification, and on these pages it sits in a list beside claims that are. NMEA 2000 is the network standard that lets marine instruments talk to each other, and certification means a device speaks that protocol correctly and can share the network without disrupting it. NMEA state that all products which read or transmit NMEA 2000 information must be certified by them. It carries no assessment of the battery's safety.
Each standard listed is an independent claim about this specific product — one standard does not imply compliance with another.
Compatible chargers
Lithium Pros' own charger and Lithium Pros' own pack. Their page for this charger says it is "purpose built for Lithium Pros 36V Lithium Ion Marine batteries", and this pack is one of their 36 volt batteries — Lithium Pros rate it at 38.4 volts, which is the same string of cells as their "36V" and both their names for it. They name a voltage and a family rather than a model, so this row is exactly as specific as they were: it places the pack inside the description the charger gives, and does not say the two were tested together. It connects with alligator clips rather than being wired in. Lithium Pros publish no recharge time for this charger — the only one of their four where they do not — saying instead that its 7 amps recharge their 36 volt batteries “with ease”. Charging and discharging are different questions: this is 7 amps going in, and Lithium Pros publish no discharge current for any of their packs, so nothing here says what the pack delivers.

The charger may not go in the boat. Lithium Pros state it "is make for dry location/shore use and does not mount in the boat" — their wording — so this pairing works at the dock and not underway. It connects with alligator clips rather than being wired in. Lithium Pros put the recharge time at two and a half hours on their own 36 volt marine packs, and qualify it themselves: actual time varies by application and by how much energy was used. Charging and discharging are different questions: this is 18 amps going in, and Lithium Pros publish no discharge current for any of their packs, so nothing here says what the pack delivers.
