    The motor's maker asks for at least a 105 amp-hour rating. This pack is rated 460 Ah and 230 A continuous. Minn Kota attach a condition to the chemistry that no comparison of figures can settle: "speeds higher than 85% for a prolonged period could cause permanent damage to the motor".

    Two in series give 25.6 V and 460 Ah — nearly four times the top of Minn Kota's guidance band, which is a very long day rather than a fault. Epoch permit four strings. Each pack sustains 230 A against a 56 A draw. Worth knowing before buying two: each weighs 40 kg and the pair is 530 mm long apiece, so this is a fitted installation rather than something lifted in and out. Minn Kota's installation manual states their motors are designed for lead acid, that lithium holds a higher voltage for longer, and that running above 85% speed for a prolonged period could cause permanent damage to the motor.
