the European Commission’s Safety Gate allow their material to be reused on the terms named above, and this catalogue uses it on those terms: their words are attributed to them, our own summaries are marked as ours, and their notice's address is printed on every page that quotes them. No logo or image of theirs is used anywhere on this site.

The Commission legal notice (commission.europa.eu/legal-notice_en) states: "The Commission's reuse policy is implemented by the Commission Decision of 12 December 2011 on the reuse of Commission documents. Unless otherwise indicated (e.g. in individual copyright notices), content owned by the EU on this website is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. This means that reuse is allowed, provided appropriate credit is given and changes are indicated." The named instrument is Commission Decision 2011/833/EU. Their own carve-outs are the reason logo reuse is not allowed and the image field is not resolved: "You may be required to clear additional rights if a specific content depicts identifiable private individuals or includes third-party works. To use or reproduce content that is not owned by the EU, you may need to seek permission directly from the rightholders. Software or documents covered by industrial property rights, such as patents, trade marks, registered designs, logos and names, are excluded from the Commission's reuse policy and are not licensed to you." A Safety Gate alert is a member state's notification rendered by the Commission, so the third-party sentence is the live one here. The data portal beside it waives its metadata separately — CC0 1.0, at data.europa.eu/en/legal-notice, also re-read the same day. ORIGINAL NOTE FROM 23 AUGUST 2026 FOLLOWS, KEPT BECAUSE IT RECORDS THE CAVEAT THAT FIRST READING MADE: These are the Commission's general reuse terms (Commission Decision of 12 December 2011 on the reuse of Commission documents, and the data.europa.eu legal notice and copyright pages). We found no separate reuse notice for the Safety Gate weekly export itself. Trademarks, registered designs, patents and logos are excluded from the Commission's general reuse policy, so logo reuse is recorded as not allowed.
