We have not documented a battery sold by this vehicle’s own manufacturer for this model. The options below are from other makers, each shown with the evidence behind it.

Replacement options from other makers

Neither manufacturer names the other. One publishes what the device requires, the other publishes what the battery does, and we have set the two side by side — including wherever they do not meet.

Winnebago specify “2 deep-cycle Group 31 batteries (AGM maintenance-free)” for the Solis. Interstate state this pack is “Group Size 31T” and an AGM. Both are naming the same BCI group, which is a dimensional standard — 330 x 173 x 240 mm — rather than a measurement either of them took, so the size question is settled rather than estimated. The Solis charges this bank harder than the Travato does: a 55-amp converter/charger against 45, into the same pair of batteries.

Only the house bank, and Winnebago fit TWO of them — this is not the chassis starting battery — check yours before buying.

Two of these.

Not established: which terminal type the van expects. Group 31 comes as 31T with top posts and 31A with threaded studs, sharing an envelope, so a pack of the right SIZE can still have the wrong POSTS for the cabling. Winnebago do not state which their trays are wired for, and this pack is a 31T. Check the terminals before buying.

Winnebago Travato, Solis and Ekko — Onan generator fuel hose may be unsecured

Affected product: Winnebago Travato

Category: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS

This recall covers only some units of this product, identified by specific model years. Check the recall notice against your own unit before concluding whether it is affected.

Units covered: Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Travato, 2021-2023 Solis, and 2022-2023 Ekko motorhomes, equipped with certain Cummins Onan QG 2800i, and Onan QG 2800i EVAP generator sets. The fuel hose between the fuel filter and Injection Pump Module (IPM) may not be properly secured, which can cause a gas leak.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel hose and clamps, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 2, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Our note — not the regulator’s words

NHTSA scope this campaign to Winnebago Industries, Inc. The floorplans this notice is shown against are matched on the model name alone, because the records held here carry no model year — so a match means NHTSA name this model, never that a particular van is affected. An owner can settle that against their own VIN: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov. This campaign was read from NHTSA's recalls API at https://api.nhtsa.gov/recalls/recallsByVehicle?make=winnebago&model=travato&modelYear=2022, which is the copy held here; the address cited above is NHTSA's own page for the campaign, which is the one a reader can open.
