Applies in: United Nations ECE contracting parties

RDW's type-approval communication, signed at Zoetermeer on 7 September 2023 by R.F.R. Clement. The box ticked is "approval extended", not "approval granted", and the stated reason for the extension is "Design and documentation update". It names SmartShunt 500A/50mV, 1000A/50mV and 2000A/50mV and not the 300A. The tests were carried out by TÜV Rheinland Nederland B.V., accredited to ISO 17025, under test report NL23VZDR 001 dated 2 August 2023. The appendix limits what it covers: the electrical system rated voltage is "12 or 24 V neg. ground", and "ESA is Not Safety Related. Radiated Immunity Tests not applicable" — so this is an electromagnetic compatibility approval and says nothing about the safety of the unit.

Each standard listed is an independent claim about this specific product — one standard does not imply compliance with another.

Batteries documented to run this

No battery in this catalogue is documented for this device yet, and neither route to one reaches it. Several battery makers publish a fitment rule in thrust — so many pounds at so many volts — and we have found no thrust rating published for this device. Its own maker publishes no minimum battery capacity either, so there is no stated requirement to set a pack’s ratings against. Both are gaps in what we have found, not statements that the figures do not exist. Last searched September 15, 2026.
