Minn Kota state a general requirement in this motor's own manual, about any battery rather than about this one: "The motor will operate with any lead acid, deep cycle marine 12-volt battery/batteries. For best results, use a deep cycle, marine battery with at least a 105 amp-hour rating." The figures it is compared against here were read from the battery maker's own specification guide, which is the source cited below. Minn Kota ask for at least 105 amp-hours, and at least 180 minutes of reserve capacity where no amp-hour figure is given. This battery gives 85 and 145 — short on both, by 20 amp-hours and 35 minutes. Minn Kota also tell readers that a battery rated in cold or marine cranking amps is not designed for a trolling motor and should be avoided; U.S. Battery publish a CCA for this one, under a heading reading Flooded Lead-Acid Deep Cycle Batteries.

Progressive Dynamics state it outright about this converter: "The 4500LI series converter/chargers are designed to recharge lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries only. DO NOT USE TO RECHARGE LEAD/ACID BATTERIES!" This pack is Flooded lead-acid, which is a lead-acid chemistry, so their sentence covers it. They say nothing about packs of other chemistries and nothing here extends it past what it covers.
